Summer Show Tickets 2016 – Celebrating 25 Years of Cumbria Dance. Saturday 18th June 2016, 6pm, The Sands Centre, Carlisle Just a reminder that tickets for our summer show go on sale on Monday 11th April 2016. These are available from The Sands Centre, priced at £15 for adults and £12 concessions. We are also giving children who perform in the first half of the show the opportunity to watch the second half with their families, by purchasing a special performers ticket priced at £5 (This type of ticket is not available online) This offer applies to performers in the following classes: Friday 4.00pm, 4.30pm and 5.15pm Saturday 10.00am, 10.30am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 2.00pm, 3.30pm and 4.15pm (This offer only applies to children who do not do modern dance as they will be dancing in the second half of the show) Performers who hold these special tickets may be collected at the interval from the upstairs foyer. (More details to follow) Please let us know if you have purchased one of these tickets for your child so that we can meet you in the interval. Just to clarify. Show 2016. Celebrating 25 Years of Cumbria Dance

We will be performing at The Sands Centre on the above date. Our show this year is entitled Celebrating 25 Years of Cumbria Dance. All pupils from Pre-Primary upwards will be performing. Please make a note of the date and let us know *ASAP* if your child is not available as we are already sorting costumes and choreographing dances. We appreciate that at this time of year there are many demands on families but it is important that pupils do not miss classes if at all possible as this has an impact on the other pupils in the dance as well as the child themselves. Please complete and return the slip below. There will be a dress rehearsal at the Sands Centre during the day on the 18th. We will give you more details regarding the dress rehearsal nearer the time but every child needs to attend for health and safety reasons as well as staging and costumes etc. Tickets will be available from The Sands Centre from 9am on Monday 11th April 2016 priced at £15 for adults and £12 concessions. Please note that The Sands Centre also charge their own booking fee.

Rambert Workshops

Rambert Workshops at Cumbria Dance Sunday 6th March 2016 We are delighted to be able to offer 3 workshops at our studio delivered by a Rambert animateur on Sunday 6th March. The workshops will give students an insight into Rambert’s work and the chance to explore their own creativity. Each workshop will include: • Contemporary technique warm-up • Exploring repertoire (Ghost Dances – Christopher Bruce) • Creative tasks Workshop 1 – 9:30-11am, £10. For pupils in school years 4-6 (approx. 8-12yrs) Workshop 2 – 11:15-1:15, £12. For pupils in school years 7-9 (approx. 12-14yrs) Workshop 3 – 2-4:30pm, £14. For pupils 14+ and adults. Workshops are open to anyone and not just Cumbria Dance pupils. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates Sunday 22nd March – Modern & Tap exams and medals Wednesday 25th March – Ballet Exams Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th June – Ballet Exams Saturday 4th July – Dance Presentation at Shepherd’s Inn Sunday 12th July 2015 – Modern & Tap exams (tbc) Open Classes Parents are invited to watch classes week commencing Monday 23rd March (last week of term). Some children will have just taken exams and others will be working towards exams in June so it is a good chance to see how they are progressing. Adult Jazz Dance Class Dance Your Way to a Healthier Summer Jayne will be starting an Adult dance class on Monday 13th April 2015. The class will consist of strengthening and flexibility exercises and dance routines. Dance is a fantastic way to keep fit and much better than slogging away in the gym! The price is £30 for a Five Week Course. Ring 01228 599440 or email info@cumbriadance to book your place. Fees Clarification Online payments are due on or before the first day of the new block. Cash or cheque payments should be brought to class during the first week of a new block (or a cheque posted if your child will be absent). Next payment due Mon 4th May 2015 We automatically assume your child will be continuing into the next block unless we hear otherwise. Our Terms and Conditions state that we require written notice at least 2 weeks before the next block if your child wants to stop so we can offer place to someone else or re-arrange classes if necessary. We are happy to make suitable arrangements if families are experiencing financial difficulties. Dance Presentation We are holding a presentation of dance on Saturday 4th July 2015 at The Shepherd’s Inn, Carlisle. All pupils will be involved There will be rehearsals in the daytime at the venue so there will be no normal classes on this day. Please let us know if your child will be on holiday. Tickets will go on sale on 1st June at £5.00 per adult and £2.50 for any child not participating (under 3’s free) More details to follow. Ballet Uniform A new style navy leotard was introduced for ballet pupils from Standard/Grade 4 upwards in September. These will be needed for the exams in June. Some pupils are arriving for ballet classes without all their uniform and/or their hair not suitably done. Once pupils are in Grade 1 (navy) I expect this to be part of their preparation for class. Cumbria Dance uniform should be worn by all pupils from Pre-Primary upwards. Drama Production Alice in Wonderland If you are interested in drama and would like to be part of our next production ‘Alice in Wonderland’ please speak to Debbie. You need to be aged 7 to 13. The production will be held on Saturday 17th October 2015 but Debbie will be casting shortly
